Maths

This term Room 14 were learning about volume and 3 dimensional shapes. We first used layers and multiplication. We used multi-link cubes to build rectangular prisms. We counted the top the top layer of the rectangular prism. If the top layer had 6 multi-link cubes and there were 5 layers, we would do 6 times 5, which equals 30 multi-link cubes.
We found multi-link cubes too easy, so we used centimetre cubes. Length, width and height is what we used to calculate the volume, we calculated the volume of small rectangular prisms. Calculating small rectangular prisms became easier and easier. So we started calculating real big boxes.
We calculated the volume of all these boxes. Most of the boxes held more than 1000 centimetre cubes.
This is the volume of each and every box. That is a lot of cubes, We had to figure out what are the smallest to biggest cubes. E holds the most amount of cubes. The order of the smallest to biggest cubes the were D, B, C, A, G, H, F, E, but I got B, D, C, A, G,H,F,E  This is what I learnt about volume in this whole term.

Speech recognition

Today Room 14 used speech recognition. Speech recognition is very useful, but you have to talk to your Chromebook like it's stupid or it's a 2 year old. If you can't think of your words you could say them instead of writing your words.

Jump rope for heart.

On June the 28, Kauri team done skipping. We were fundraising for the heart foundation.
We done many activities like hula hoops, double Dutch, peer skipping, relays and freestyle.
We also had ten stages, stage 1,2,3,4,5 was the same as 6,7,8,9,10 but we still had fun.
Fardosa done the most skips, guess how much? 148!!!
My favourite out of all of them is double Dutch, do you like skipping?
