Wonder book review

Wonder book
This year Room 14 has been reading a book called wonder. The main characters are August, Jack, Julian, Amos, Myles, Mr Tushman, Via, and Miranda. It's a book about this kid named August. People say he is not normal because of how he looks. There was a lot of drama like how August overheard his friends saying that they were forced to be friends with August on Halloween, Halloween is his favourite time of the year because he gets to hide his face. Via and Miranda stopped being friends, Jack gave Julian a sweet surprise, Mr Tushman has a little email fight with Julians mum and August starts a new school and goes to camp. After we read the book we learnt not to judge a person by his/her face, and we also learnt to realise that the special needs people need to be treated properly, it's one of our human rights. I really recommend this book for anyone to read. I really think that you shouldn't judge people by their looks, just treat them like human beings.

This is my guide on how to run faster. This drawing shows 3 simple steps and the pictures are examples of people who follow these steps. So if you want to know how to run faster then ever make sure you follow these simple steps.

Maths algebra pattern

This is my presentation about our maths problem. It was a pattern of houses made out of matchsticks. We had to figure out the rule, this slide show shows the ways we figured it out and the rule. It wasn't easy finding the rule but when we got into groups we started working together as a team and we found out the rule.

Maths

This term Room 14 were learning about volume and 3 dimensional shapes. We first used layers and multiplication. We used multi-link cubes to build rectangular prisms. We counted the top the top layer of the rectangular prism. If the top layer had 6 multi-link cubes and there were 5 layers, we would do 6 times 5, which equals 30 multi-link cubes.
We found multi-link cubes too easy, so we used centimetre cubes. Length, width and height is what we used to calculate the volume, we calculated the volume of small rectangular prisms. Calculating small rectangular prisms became easier and easier. So we started calculating real big boxes.
We calculated the volume of all these boxes. Most of the boxes held more than 1000 centimetre cubes.
This is the volume of each and every box. That is a lot of cubes, We had to figure out what are the smallest to biggest cubes. E holds the most amount of cubes. The order of the smallest to biggest cubes the were D, B, C, A, G, H, F, E, but I got B, D, C, A, G,H,F,E  This is what I learnt about volume in this whole term.

Speech recognition

Today Room 14 used speech recognition. Speech recognition is very useful, but you have to talk to your Chromebook like it's stupid or it's a 2 year old. If you can't think of your words you could say them instead of writing your words.

Jump rope for heart.

We done many activities like hula hoops, double Dutch, peer skipping, relays and freestyle.
We also had ten stages, stage 1,2,3,4,5 was the same as 6,7,8,9,10 but we still had fun.
Fardosa done the most skips, guess how much? 148!!!
My favourite out of all of them is double Dutch, do you like skipping?

Tennis term 2

This term we started tennis. The tennis teacher told us to throw the ball across the hall to each other, the tennis teacher's name was Josh. We had to catch the ball at our hitting zone, the hitting zone is at our waist.

The tennis teacher told us about the sweet spot and said it's easier to control the ball  in the sweet spot. The sweet spot is in the centre of the of the racket, and if you hit the ball at the side of the racket it will feel a bit wonky.

Ben found it as easy as moving your finger.

Then after that we went outside and practised using the nets. Only one person had to have the racket though.

It was our last day and we started doing rallies, tennis was fun. Would you like to play tennis?

Book Tracks

Today I read a book on book Tracks. I read The ghost in young Nicks head. It was awesome how the soundtrack played while reading the words. It made the book so interesting to read and I visualise it
very easily. I recommend that you try book tracks.
